Q: Compressor and Motion

Hello, today I would like to know about Compressor and Motion.

I did know what Motion was but i don't understand what Compressor is.

Also, when I look at the Compressor on the Apple website, I noticed that

the Compressor page and Motion page where quite similar.

Could you please tell me the difference between those and what exactly is Compressor?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

Since you already know that Motion is used for creating motion graphics, I'll just say a few things about Compressor, which is actually quite different from Motion.

The purpose of Compressor is to take media files that have been created by some other process – say, in software like Motion or Final Cut – and change its specifications so that it can be optimized for different purposes. For example, you might have a video file that is too large to play efficiently from a Web server. Compressor offers the tools to re-compress the file so that it's much smaller and allows you to produce the best trade offs between size, quality and playability.

It also lets you take multiple files and batch them for re-encoding – or apply multiple encoding settings to a single file to meet different delivery objectives.
