Q: Airport Extreme able to boost two separate networks?

I have Cox hi-speed internet and a single modem that is split into two separate networks; one for my computers and the other for media (Apple TV, etc). Can my single Airport Extreme be set up to boost each of those networks or am I only able to boost one? Thanks for any advice!

iMac (Retina 4K, 21.5-inch, Late 2015), OS X El Capitan (10.11)

Not exactly sure what you mean by 'split into two separate networks' here. Are you saying that you have an Ethernet switch connected directly to the modem that is used to do the split? What is the make & model of the modem that Cox is providing you?

Regardless, your AirPort, or pretty much any other wireless router can only 'boost' a single Wi-Fi network.

Hi - thanks for the help. I figured it could only work on one network but the modem is Netgear AC1900 C6300BD. The modem can be set up to have two networks on it and that's how we set it up. It's not using a splitter or split cable or anything like that, if that's what you mean. But when I set up the Airport, it only allowed me to select one of the networks we created, so I did. I thought maybe someone would know if there was a way to add another network to it as we did with the Netgear router. I'm assuming it's not possible but don't know much about it. Thanks

Ok, I think I understand now. This Netgear gateway can provide two separate Wi-Fi networks, one on the 2.4 GHz band, and the other, on the 5 GHz band. The simultaneous dual-band Extreme can extend the Wi-Fi range of both radios, but only if the Extreme is connected to that gateway by Ethernet ... AND, both networks use the same network name (aka, SSID) and wireless security type/password.

This is known as a roaming network.
