iPhone 5 Serial is Tool Long to Read

Need to read the serial number under Settings/General/About BUT the serial number is too long and is truncated. The print on the back is toooo small and dark on dark so impossible to read for these old eyes. If they had simply shortened the label "Serial Number" to Ser Num" there would be room to show the whole number. Looks like Wifi Address and ICCID are also truncated. You can copy the number but that doesn't help when filling in a form on another machine. Also, the list won't go into landscape orientation with expanded room. Am I missing something or is simply weak design.

Have you zoomed the display?

I am able to read all of the numbers with nothing truncated.

Hold your finger over the serial number until "Copy" comes up. Then copy and paste it into notes. The entire serial number will be visible there. Then just use that to fill out what ever forms you need.-AJ

Unfortunately, that means I have to wait for my exchange server to resync notes on my phone. Not really a good option when you simply want to fill out a form.

The text in settings corresponds to the text size set under settings>general>accessibility> larger text. You can also enable zoom under settings>general>accessibility>zoom. -AJ

Aj397,

Tried the zoom first. It doesn't work - just changes the whole screen scale.

Tried changing text size and that WORKED. Thanks. I would prefer to Not have to change text size just to read the serial number. Plus I'll probably forget this next time I have to read the SN.

Problem resolve in under 20 minutes. Nice.

Look at AJ397's post.

If you touch and hold your finger on the serial # (or IMEI or MEID) a 'copy' option pops up- touch 'copy'. Then in a new note in 'Notes', again touch for a moment and an option to paste appears.

Alternatively, physically connect the phone to your computer and launch iTunes and click on the phone icon, and in the left-hand column is 'Summary', there near the top left of the summary is the serial #; right click and copy.

(clicking again on the serial #, the UDID #, click again and the ECID # appears.)
