Earpods

I Have been getting earpods every year since 2013, when I got my first ipod, and every time, they only seem to last me a year before they just stop working, and the control thing on the right earpod starts spazing out (pulling up voice control, playing and pausing randomly when I move the cord) or they just stop getting sound through all together. I'm frustrated because I've tried everything to get them to last longer, but nothing seems to work. I don't have time to put them back in the case everytime I finish using them. Anyone have any ideas on what I should do?
