iPhone 6 s and iOS 9.2

my current phone has software 9.2, but my new iPhone 6s plus does not have 9.2, so I am unable to back-up. How an I update new iPhone 6 to receive date from current phone?

Update the new phone to iOS 9.2 first and then restore it to your old back up. -AJ

thanks for the reply AJ - but how do i by pass the set-up mode? the only options on my new phone are emergency call or wi-fi settings
