How can I copy pictures from Photos to iPhone?

Hello to all of you I need help, can you help me please?

1. I imported photos from my iPhone on to Photos with the deleted function on.

2. Than I edited a few of them.

3. Than I want to copy the same Photos I have previously taken with the iPhone back to it - from the Photos-App.

How can I do that?

I am often in Asia and Internet is often poor therefore I have a fast 3.0 USB Cable which connects the MacBookAir and the iPhone - should be easy right?

With a USB connection use iTunes Photo Sync, Uwe. The procedure is described here: Sync photos to your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch in iTunes - Apple Support

There are a few caveats: It will only work, if the photos you want to sync to your iPhone are in your system photos library. Enable your Photos library as the System Photos Library in the Photos > Preferences > general.

And you must not have enabled iCloud Photo Library on your iPhone. Otherwise photo sync will be disabled in iTunes.

Thanks LarryHN and léonie for taking time and writing back to me and bringing up ideas to solve my problem! I fully appreciate!

Well regarding MyPhotoStream as far as I know this is the iCloud Sync option - right? Well iCloud = WiFi = Internet = not happening in Asia, as I mentioned before and therefor not useful at all. As I said, I have a very high speed data-cable original Apple USB 3.0 and a USB 3.0 plug in my very new Apple MacBookAir 13" - so no use of Internet, WiFi or any other than USB - right? You agree right?

The other option you mentioned is iTunes sync. Well that was obvious and obviously I tried that one too before writing a question to apple community support! Well the thing is that iTunes wants to delete my photos on the phone before I will be able to transfer photos to the phone. When you have read this sentence, read it again, think about it and read it again and then tell me if you got it.

Again, I don't want to delete anything on my phone!

All I want is to copy photos from my MacBook to my iPhone by using my USB cable, well I know Its simple, right? This simple task are doing many users all over the world by using a PC (wich cost not even the half of my MacBookAir) and a smartphone (alike Samsung or so)? You think apple can cope with that too? I'd bet - would you?

Have you ever used iTunes Photo Sync?

If not, then it will not delete any photos. iTunes Photo sync will transfer the photos you select in iTunes to your iPhone and replace any photos you previously iTunes synced photos. Any photos in the camera roll will not be deleted.

iTunes Photo sync is the only way to transfer photos to your iPhone using a USB connection. Bus as I said, if you have iCloud Photo Library enabled you cannot use it - then you are limited to a network transfer.

I am sure your read that I don't want to delete files on my phone - right?

I can make a photo of the cable too and send it as well - this way round it works perfectly fine BUT WHAT I WANT IS THE OTHER WAY ROUND. Just a simple photo on my computer to the vey handy cellphone - eeeaaaasy. Why not drag and drop via USB-Cable - I just need a few photos, maybe ten or so, or even five will do.

I do sync my iPhone with my computer - I did need to do that, other than that I wouldn't be able to put music on my phone - but did I tell already that my entire music on my phone was deleted - which I have been paying for to transfer from my old iPhone to the new one in a professional Apple Store? Well deleting is enough done - I don't need less I need more - or is it that I don't pronounce it clear enough?

Is it something so ridiculously that nobody uses? I thought copying photos from my computer to my phone is a normal procedure, a simple taks. I mean I took photos with my phone, copy them to my computer, edit them and now push them back to the phone - offline with my USB-Cable. I think I remember doing that 10 years ago with a very old Nokia phone and that worked fine actually.

Have you ever used Photos to get the photos from your phone on your computer? This is easy right? I want to do the same but the other way round - just as easy and simple.

Copying photos to your iPhone via USB is not supported. You can only sync via USB. iPhone, iPad, iPod are not treated like external disks, where you can add files by copying to the device. The iOS operating system has no file system that is accessible to users. You always have to use apps that support specific tasks.

The iPod Classic was the last mobile Apple device where we could simply copy files to and mount the iPod as an external disk. When the iPod touch and the iPhone were released, Apple stopped this for security reasons and we can no longer copy files to the iPhone, iPod, etc.

iTunes Photo Sync will upload selected photos and albums for browsing on the iPhone. They are kept separate from all your other photos and not be stored in the camera roll. These particular uploaded photos will be replaced when you sync the iPhone again. And you can only delete them again by syncing again. So be aware, that you will need your Mac to remove the synced photos from the iPhone. You cannot delete them using the iPhone.

all other easy ways to get photos to your iPhone require a network connection.
