Q: touch screen - unresponsive - need to back up.

I've dropped my phone one too many times and now the touch screen isn't working. I used the home/lock button option to turn off the phone to see if a restart would fix the issue. This didn't work. I am now needing to back up my phone so that I can restore on my new phone.

As I turned the phone off, it now won't unlock with just my finger print. It wants the pin too. Nothing that I try is working. Is there a way to bypass the pin? Through iTunes??

I haven't backed my phone up regulary so will be loosing heaps of unreplaceable photos. I only load a few select things to facebook so desperate for a solution.

Thank you in advance for any help.

    Hey Peej_,

Sorry to hear about your situation with your iPhone. I know you need to make a back up, so lets see what we can do about that.

I would start with plugging your iPhone into a computer with iTunes that you have synced with before. This should at least let you sync and back up your iPhone before getting it replaced. Take a look at the information below for more details. If you for some reason it is asking for the passcode and don't have another option to sync your iPhone then you will need to rely on the most recent back up that you have made in iTunes or iCloud.

If you forgot the passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled

    Erase your device with iTunes

If you've synced your device with iTunes, you can restore your device.

    1. Connect your device to the computer you synced with.
    2. Open iTunes. If asked for a passcode, try another computer you've synced with, or use recovery mode
    3. Wait for iTunes to sync your device and make a backup. If it doesn't, learn what to do.
    4. Once the sync and backup have finished, click Restore [your device].
    5. When you reach the Set Up screen while restoring your iOS device, tap Restore from iTunes backup.
    6. Select your device in iTunes. Look at the date and size of each backup and pick the most relevant one.

     Take it easy

I Only have it synced to the one machine and it won't back up and nail I've entered my pin on my phone. Will try some of the other options you've suggested.

MY daughter had her first music concert and Childcare Christmas party this week so 2 events I would like to keep the videos and photos from.
