To connect, turn on Bluetooth and it should automatically pair with the pencil. As for alignment, I don't know what you mean - there is no alignment or calibration to be done.

No, as I said, there is no alignment nor calibration setting or feature for the Apple pencil. If yours is not working correctly then make a genius appointment and bring it in to Apple to have it checked out and repaired or replaced as necessary. Mine works just fine and has done so since the day I got it.

I test drove the Apple Pencil on an iPad Pro at my local Apple Store and there is definitely a need to calibrate its positional accuracy. It was drawing lines 2-3mm south of the pencil tip when you held it at an ergonomic 45 degrees to the screen. It was the same on 4 different Ipad Pro/Apple Pencil I tested. Great for making parallel lines 2mm apart, but impossible to trace over an existing line. Is there some alignment setting in the apple settings or is it app specific?? I can't find any info about this.
