Q: Can't edit playlists after moving acct. from one PC to another
I
1) Connected 3rd gen. Nano to old PC. Made sure all music was on it.
2) Downloaded and installed newest iTunes version onto new PC.
3) Connected Nano to new PC.
4) Made some new purchases with new PC, then attempted to add them to playlists.
a. Playlists were listed on the left, library on the right.
5) Tried to drag-and-drop new purchases onto playlists, but this was unsuccessful. Playlist songs were grayed out.
iPod nano (3rd generation), Windows 7, sure

You need to transfer your iTunes library from the old PC to the new one. See How to move your iTunes library to a new computer - Apple Support. Make sure you copy the complete library, including the iTunes database (iTunes Library.itl), not just the media files and folders. Once complete you'll need to redownload the new purchases. Then - and only then - reconnect your iPod to add new content.
