Q: I have an iTunes library full of lossless tracks.  Can I not integrate them into Apple Music?

From what I understand, the only way to integrate my music lossless music into Apple Music is to turn on iCloud Music LIbary, which then transcodes everything I own and uploads it to the cloud.   Am I right?  Or am I missing something?
