Q: How do you gift a Mac app that is in the App Store but not in iTunes?

I found a Mac app I want to buy as a gift that is only sold from the App Store. Apple help says one can do that through the iTunes Store, but the only version there is for iOS, not for the Mac. I do not see any way to Gift an app from the App Store, and thus for this Mac app, there is NO way to gift it.

Any ideas?

Yes, there is no gift function in the Mac App Store. You can use the iTunes app to purchase an electronic gift certificate in the amount close to the price of the app. Or you can purchase and mail an iTunes Gift Card available in many local stores.
