This may not be the the right thread to post, but I wanted to get some advice from professional video editors. I have a Mac Pro, 2 x 2.26 GHz quad core xeon with 6GB 1066 DDR3, NVIDIA GeForce GT 512 MB. I know this machine still has the possibility of power. I was going to put in an SSD until I started to do some research. I think this might be the best option for an upgrade. OWC 480GB Mercury Accelsior E2 PCI Express Solid State Drive. I want to get an opinion on what this drive will do for me. I assume I can edit 1080 without a problem. I have a 2015 MBP and AVCHN renders really fast in Premier Pro. Will I also need to get more memory and a new graphics card? I am planning on getting back into editing and want to start taking on ProRes, and maybe even RAW.
Give me the pros and cons of this card and my current system. If I am in the wrong thread let me know.
