Q: once you change apple id email does apple "forgot" that email to be able to reuse it

Once you change apple id email, does apple "forgot" that email to be able to reuse it? I currently have two apple id's and I would like to change the 2nd to a 3rd email address and then go back in and change the 1st to the 2nd email (the one that was technically already used). Will that work?

MacBook Pro (15-inch Mid 2010), OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)

    Hi, bpayton27!

Thank you for the question regarding reusing an email address that will be removed from another Apple ID.  The short answer is yes and you have described the exact process for this to happen in your post.  Once this email has been removed or changed, make sure that it is also not associated with another Apple ID as an addition or rescue email address.  I have attached the relevant articles that will walk you through the process if you are unfamiliar.
