How to make FaceTime ringtone different from phone ringtone on iOS 9.2, iPhone 6s

Thank you, and I do, that is why I am writing you. Apple used to meet all my needs with every one of their devices, that is why I have loyalty to them, but they are losing their grip, and rather than just abondoning them at the first sight of an issue, I am giving them a chance to redeem themselves. I do not need to reinvent the wheel, research and switch my entire office setup based on a glitch that could be remedied. The smart decision is rarely the hasty one. Rapidly switching from product to product is what PC people do, they have no brand loyalty; so, the brands suck. Apple people recognize when a company as a whole is doing things well, and sticks with them until they really do poorly. That is the whole purpose of my writing here, to point out that Apple is starting to not meet my needs, and if it keeps up, I will make the switch; however, some brands do tend to just do things better, and therefore, brand loyalty exists for a good reason. Additionally, syncability amongst devices is one of my needs, and syncability is always best when you remain with one manufacturer. That is why Apple is so much better than PC. PC has too many manufacturers, all trying to do the same thing in one device, and it causes issues with compatability. Uniform brands helps all work smoothly, that was Apple's claim to fame. Currently, to meet my needs, I am using a combination of Apple and Google but, this does cause some issues with syncing and compatibility. If they were all the same brand, things would work smoother. It just depends on who is currently doing it better, and how often you want to switch your setup. I use my computer to run my office; so, switching manufacturers is not quick or easy. But, if glitches continue, then Apple would not be meeting my needs the way Google is, which is what would make me make the switch.

As you can take both standard calls and Facetime from all of the above devices, I'm not sure I understand the issue. When my phone rings, regardless of the type of call, my Watch rings and, if I'm near them, my iPad and my MBA also ring. I answer on whatever device is most convenient.

And, you should always choose the tool that best meets your needs rather than buying based solely on brand.

To the best of my knowledge, there's no way to make them different. A call is a call as far at the phone is concerned.

A call is a call. If there are certain people who are more likely to call you via FT, you could give them a custom tone.

If you don't want your iPad and iMac to ring if your are getting a call on your iPhone, deselect the phone number in the FaceTime settings for "receive at" on the iPad and iMac.

Same for Settings/Phone/on other devices/

If this option is selected, all devices with the same Apple ID and connected to Wi-Fi will ring.

Let people call you on FaceTime, using your mail address instead of your phone number, if you want to receive the calls on the Mac or iPad.

(iPhone 6 / iOS 11.2.1) I like, and need, the feature of being able to answer my phone on my iMac. I wish to retain this feature but, it requires some adjustment. The purpose of all Apple devices ringing when an incoming calls arrives, is to sync all your devices, to be able to answer the call on any device, and make your life simple and unified. Unfortunately, the way Apple did it, is not simple or unified at all, and it's lack of uniformity deduces from the purpose of this feature. The idea of all devices being unified would not only mean having them all ring but, would also mean that all devices' RINGTONES need to be unified. Custom ringtones on iPhone are not available on iPad and iMac; so, the ringtones are all different, and the different ringtones make this place sound crazy when the phone rings. There needs to be a way to not only select a separate ringtone for FaceTime calls versus regular phone calls but, these ringtone settings also need to be synced to all devices for uniform ringtones. All devices should ring the same tone AND tones for different types of calls should be different. Ringtone 1 should ring for regular calls, on all devices; ringtone 2 should ring for FaceTime calls, on all devices; ringtone 3 should ring for text messages, on all devices; ringtone 4 should ring for emails, on all devices; and ringtone 5 should ring for other types of alerts, on all devices. Once these ringtones are selected, these settings should sync to all devices; so, no matter which device you are near, when you hear a specific ringtone, you know what type of call it is, and you can answer that call on the nearest device, confidently. Otherwise, it's like this; I hear a tone, and it's like, well, if that's my iMac, it's this call but, if that's my phone, I think its something else, and it's just massively confusing. Not simple, not unified, unless you can fix this, Apple. Thank you for reading this and attempting to fix this. Just please make sure to step it up because Google is biting at your ankles.
