how do I convert NEF to JPEG in Aperture?

I took my photos in RAW format on my Nikon and Aperture won't read them. I have no idea how to convert them to JPEG. I've tried various free converters online and none seem to work.

That will depend on the particular NEF format. The RAW support in Aperture is camera specific.

Is your Nikon camera on this list of supported cameras?

Which version of MacOS X and Aperture do you have?

I have a Nikon 750, its apparently supported. MacOS X version 10.9.5. Aperture version 3.5.1

Your camera is not supported under OS X 10.9.5 - OS X Mavericks: Supported digital camera RAW formats - Apple Support - you need at least Yosemite - it is also supported in El Captain which is the current version of the OS - Digital camera RAW formats supported by OS X El Capitan - Apple Support

So you must either upgrade the OS or find a third party solution
