im selling my old Mac Pro and I had Apple do a fresh install of Snow Leopard. I have a couple of people that are interested in it, and I want to turn it on and set a temporary user.
how do I do this?

Just create a new user account. Here is the oldest article I could find but it should be about the same in Snow Leopard:

You’ll be told to do so when you turn it on; you can also create accounts in the Accounts pane of System Preferences afterwards.
