Can send email but not receiving.

Hello everyone.

Here is a problem, I am trying to set up a home mail server. Got a domain from easydns set the mx record on it to my home ip, on router opened up ports to the machine that is hosting mail server. Can register on to the server from anywhere, as well send emails to anyone. The problem is in the receiving mail from outside of the domain. Tried testing to connect to the server via port 25 and seems like the server rejecting all connections on that port, any suggestion on where to look for the miss configuration?

iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11.2)

Nearly all residential ISP's block port 25 as an anti-spam measure, and even if they don't, other mail servers will usually reject mail that comes from an SMTP server in a residential netblock.

If you want to set up a mail server just for your own use, set up the VPN service and access the server through a tunnel. Relay outgoing mail through your ISP or another mail service provider.

Better yet, use a hosted service.

ISP saying they are not blocking anything, and the problem is not sending the mail, but receiving the email from outside. As it stands right now, i can connect to server from anywhere to my server via port 587, I can send emails to anyone on to any domain, but when someone replying to me the mail is not delivered through a little digging it turns out that the server rejecting connections on port 25. But sending emails via port 25. Could it be miss configuration of Mac firewall if there is such a thing on Mac?

In the sidebar of the Server app window, please select the server by name, then select the Access tab. The network access setting for the service should be All Networks if you want the clients to be able to connect from anywhere. The ports on which the service listens are also shown.

If there's no entry for the service in the Custom Access list, the default settings will apply.
