Please review the Setup Guide that came with your Time Capsule to confirm that the Time Capsule must connect to your modem or router using a permanent, fixed Ethernet cable connection.

An Ethernet cable can be run up to 300+ feet with virtually no loss, so you should be able to locate the Time Capsule just about anywhere that you want.....unless you have a very large home.

Once you have this basic connection established, you can use wireless on a Mac, iPhone, or iPad to set up the Time Capsule.

I underlined the word permanent above, but apparently that was not clear.

Permanent would mean that the Time Capsule must always be connected at all times to the modem or router using a wired Ethernet cable connection.

The only exception to this would be if you already have an Apple AirPort router near your modem that is providing your wireless network.  If that were the case, then the Time Capsule could connect using only wireless....as long as the Time Capsule was located where it could receive a strong wireless signal from the AirPort router near the modem.

    Hi Bob

My Router have 1 WAN which is connected to a Fiber Optic Router, then from it i have LANs, so i can only go from LAN to WAN on the Time Capsule> Is this possible?

    Regards
