Mac OS XNot starting up is the actual problem. It won't be recognized if it's not turned ON. First, make sure the Hold switch is not in the ON position.
If you did the work yourself, open the casing again and examine all the visible connections. For example, there is a connection point between the hard drive and logic board. Check the battery connection. Make sure you did not damage the ribbon cable (or its connector) that goes between the logic board and metal side of casing.
Then, do not snap the casing closed. Try turning it ON and connecting while casing is still ajar.
