can you print Avery mailing labels from numbers

I have always used an Excel spreadsheet with names and addresses and 'mail merged' into Word to print 250 or so Christmas mailing addresses.

The names and addresses are different than what we have in our Contacts.

I always have used Avery (30 labels per sheet), Number 8160 labels.

Now I'm a proud iMac owner but am having a horrendous time getting the labels printed.

I have all the data moved from Excel to Numbers, but can't get the data into a label template. I looked at the Avery template download but it got terrible reviews from Apple users.

HELP! Please.

Thanks.

iMac, iOS 9

Hi,

Your best bet for printing mailing labels is the Contacts application which is included with every Mac. It has options to print many different Avery labels including 8160.

Have a look at this thread from a year ago (Christmas, coincidentally) which offers a way to extract names and addresses from Numbers and import them into Contacts. But the devil is in the detail - it would need an AppleScript tailored to your Numbers spreadsheet.

Cheers,

H
