Q: Apple TV 3rd Gen Sparkling Display

I have this issue with my Apple TV 3rd Gen displaying a sparkling or white specks image on my Magnavox 47" LCD 1080p. Has anyone experienced this problem? I have an Apple TV 2nd Gen with no problems displaying image (No Sparkling / White Specks). I believe it there might be an issue with the HDMI cable of 35 ft, as I have connected the Apple TV 3rd Gen to my kids Magnavox 32" LED TV with a 4 ft HDMI cable with no problems. I have the long cable because the TV sits above the fireplace with my A/V equipment located in our hallway. I am thinking of purchasing a high end connection 40 ft HDMI cable. Please post your thoughts and suggestions.

Have you tried a different port on the 47" display?

I really did not think of this because I have no issues viewing the Apple TV 2nd Gen and Blu-Ray player through HDMI input 1 on the TV, but I'll try switching it over the holidays as my old LCD does weigh a bit and I need help removing it from over the fireplace.

Have you had such as problem as I described?

No I haven't. It may very well be the cable but sometimes it's an issue with the port. If the 2nd gen Apple TV has been tested in the same port as the 3rd with no issue then that is unlikely, but still worth a shot to switch ports for the 3rd gen before getting the cable.
