Q: iPad Mini browser links no connection

I've had our iPad mini for 2+ years now, and it's wireless-only, used at home. Wireless router appears to work fine. It's been rebooted, the iPad Mini has also been reset, networks forgotten and re-added, lease renewed, rebooted, you name it. Wireless works though because Facebook works. But the links within Facebook do not open, and neither Safari nor Chrome can bring up anything. Says webpage not available, ERR-ABORTED, things like that. Amazon app doesn't load, neither do other apps like Weather or iTunes store.  Wireless indicator spins and spins, then sometimes the Network error dialog box appears stating "Failed to connect. Please check that airplane mode is off or that Wifi is connected."

I've searched the board and have tried everything, but cannot figure out how Facebook can work real time yet no other internet connection work? I can't see anything else in my settings that would impact this, including restrictions. Iphones at home work fine through wireless.

Thank you!

    Hi there reez72,

It sounds like nothing but the FaceBook app has access to the internet even after resetting your iPad, forgetting the network, etc. I would next forget the network one more time as you had before, then quit all the running apps:

Force an app to close in iOS

    1. Press the Home button two times quickly. You'll see small previews of your recently used apps.
    2. Swipe left to find the app you want to close.
    3. Swipe up on the app's preview to close it.

When you have done that restart the device as well as your router, and test the issue again:

iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

If the issue persists that would indicate to me there may be an issue with the iOS itself. In that case I would backup your device to iTunes, then restore it as new and verify that it works in a fresh install.

How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups

If it does, then restore your backup to either verify it still works and the software just needed reinstalled, or isolate the issue to the backup file itself.
