Back up your data, click here, and read the entire page. Mac OS X 10.7 and newer don't support PowerPC software such as Microsoft Office 2004; some other installed software may also be incompatible.

Only if it has 2 GB of RAM but 4 GB is better and after you purchase from Apple the Snow leopard install DVD to upgrade to 10.6.3. Once there update to 10.6.8 to get the correct App Store for El Capitan.

Before starting any of this make sue you backup everything first.
