I see you are having issues changing your Apple ID password through iTunes. Have you tried changing it from your Apple ID account page? Take a look at the following article for the steps:

I don't want to change the password, just change a setting related with the password for Apple store, for example: don't ask for password for free app.
when I change that seething, my iPhone or iPad ask me for mi Apple ID password, and that it when don't recognize my current password.
if you read my initial post carefully again I think you will understand
