Q: The worst community

I do not know where this post will appear, which adds to the confusion of "Apple community", however, Apple does not make it easy to see the problems users have with Apple. I am not allowed to create an update to Apple All?????? So the only option I found to connect to most of MY users is to connect to Apple Android??

I challenge every Apple developer (Of which I am One???? I do not know why yet???) to show me (without being rude....) why we can not not get propper info from the forum??

Could you describe the issue and conditions when the problem occurs so

someone may have an idea what else is going on with your (brand?) of

product and the service or software the problem or trouble pertains to?

Since my usual habit is to look into all new posts, from my user access in

the ASC after logging in, I happen across dozens of new threads such as

yours, as well as other recently added-to existing ones; sometimes it is

hard to tell how old the original topic is from the main section pages.

Any question you ask, could be re-located to another section, if someone

has been here long enough to suggest it to the Community Hosts. As we

are mostly just owners and users of Apple products here, & volunteer as

time and opportunity allows, we don't represent Apple, Inc nor do we see

any compensation. To contact Apple, use the Contact link at bottom/page.

While I do understand the confusion or unclear layout, these ASC areas

are in some kind of update or modification without notice to us users...

So the software that drives these complex pages is also changing.

From the front page of Communities you could click on Developer:

    Developer Forums

Sorry you've had some issues in attempting to correctly place your question.

This exactly describes my issue....when I ask a question, no one seems to know what I am talking about (even though we all speak English). How am I (as a beginner) get to get any proper answers??

There are times when I selectively choose a search engine to look for ideas about how

the question(s) I may have, were addressed online by others; though the responses to

my searches there vary depending on what is available, and how I word my searches.

However, the advantage is that I can look across multiple web sites via a search engine

such as duckduckgo, or others (sometimes use google, even though they harvest my

moves online and try to make some use of my life for a profit) because the other kinds

of search engines sometimes bring different content up, first or when others don't...

So between using a few different web browsers, (safari is third place, of four) I can

have a different one with a search engine and then do not re-use the same window

to try to keep track of what I've already looked at. I sometimes have four + windows

open, and try to avoid slowing my Mac due to this method. Same in Apple discussions,

where I open the page of current posted questions or active discussions, then choose

to have the browser open each one in a new window. Then the other window does not

get refreshed; since I don't use it to look ahead. I can choose then to look into the other

topics from the time I first visited. Some have changed content, though, given replies.

There are different ways of doing the same things; I used to reply to a few other Mac

centric discussions online, many of which have since gone away; and I used an alias

name, and set up a free email account to go there. And used dialup internet to look

up information in areas I was unfamiliar to attempt to help; plus posted links to what

I found so others could look back to see what it was I tried to quote.

I'd recommend using search engines and do avoid any tempting offers to get download

of software from sketchy sites, and watch out for sources of adware or malware that

may present themselves as more pleasant options. An advantage is to not think they

have anything for free that I'd want to mess up my mac with; a mindset that something

for nothing can be less than nothing, it can cost more than just money.

Usually I start with my bookmark to Apple Support Communities on the Welcome page

and leave that one open and choose a specific Community, if I'm looking to try & help

other users or just see what others are saying either way. I can learn, if I'm skeptical

and choose to follow up on some topic and search critically for what I don't know. Like

in any news topic, one can choose to search for real truth when others say they have it.

When I choose a community to view topics in I open a new browser window from the

contextual menu. And do this often; even when using search engines, so those earlier

pages don't refresh or so I don't lose my place in that frame of reference.

How you use the tool plays a lot in what one may gain from attempting to access info.

As most everyone has a method that may be working OK, I'm open to other suggestion

but try to not waste limited bandwidth online due to ceilings and ISP overage fees...

There is that suggestion page on how to write a good question, in that some fail to add

the details of their hardware and software that relates to their situational condition. A

first in almost any scenario; kinda like that old joke, when someone says 'who's on 1st?'

I know it helps to have a quirky sense of humor even if your computer takes up smoking.
