Twitter for iPhone removed drafts / Can't restore from iCloud

Hi there.

I'm just about fed up with crap happening to me. I decided to sign out of the Twitter app on the iPhone yesterday. There was no warning whatsoever to my recollection about continuing with this process so little did I know that when I was to sign back in, all of my drafts had been removed. Should I really be concerned? Maybe not but I had a lot of drafts saved up with thoughts I had at the time but decided not to send and i'm just unhappy that by signing out, this has erased that data.

Now I went onto iTunes to see if maybe I could restore from a backup and the last manual backup was done on the 31/08/15 which had me livid as I cannot comprehend why it has been that long. However iCloud had made an automatic backup of my phone yesterday at around 1PM and yet I cannot restore my phone from this backup? Why is it that my iPhone backs itself up throughout the day but I can only restore from a backup made on iTunes?

Is there any way of ever getting my Twitter drafts back or should I just accept Apple owned me again?

I will however make it a priority to start making regular backups but would this have actually restored my Twitter drafts anyway?

iPhone 4S, iOS 7.0.6
