I have an iMac El Capitan OSX. version 10.11.2....labels I printed on my old PC either whole pages of one address or singly...it was easy
but seems a very convoluted process with Apple !?
How do I do it

Labels are extremely simple to print in OS X. Please look over Address Book: Printing mailing labels or envelopes with multiple names - Apple Support
I agree with rkaufmann87, labels are very easy to print from a Mac. There are a variety of ways to print them. In addition to what rkaufmann87 mentions if you have Pages or Word you can use an Avery document template.
