download movie from iMac to ipad2

If you rented the movie from iTunes and downloaded it to your iMac, I am afraid that there is no way to transfer a rental purchase to an iPad.

You could try the Home Sharing feature between your Mac and iPad to see if you can watch the movie from your iPad that way.

OR, if rented and you own an Apple TV that communicates with your Mac, you can watch the movie over Apple TV using either Home Sharing or Apple's Air Play feature.

You won"t be able to connect up your iPad to a TV using the digital AV adapter, though to watch the movie that way with your iPad connected to the TV.

If you purchased the movie as a full download to keep, you can connect your iPad to your Mac once the movie is on your Mac and sync it to your iPad OR you can just download the movie, again, from your iPad as Apple allows purchased full content to be downloaded to 5 differemt Apple devices.
