Q: os x yosemite

HI MY NAME IS LENARD ,  I HAVE A MACBOOK AIR 2008-2009 FIRST GENERATION, AND JUST WANT TO KNOW IF I CAN UPGRADE TO OS X YOSEMITE , BECAUSE AND USING 10.6 LEOPARD VERSION AND IT KINDA ANNOYING SOMETIME ,I CANNOT USE ANY APPS BECAUSE OF THIS, SO COULD YOU PLEASE HELP ME OUT  AND LET ME KNOW IF CAN UPGRADE USING AND DOWNLOADING THE YOSEMITE OS X WITH A USB MEMORY AN LATER INSTALL IT. PLEASE

    Howdy Lenard,

    Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities.

     

    I see you're wondering if you can download and install OS X Yosemite on to a USB drive in order to install it at a later time.  While OS X Yosemite isn't available in the Mac App Store, OS X El Capitan is available, and is compatible with your Mac.  For help with creating a bootable installer disk, please take a look at the information in the link below.

    If you haven't previously downloaded Yosemite, it is no longer available in the App Store. If you downloaded it before, check the App Store Purchases tab.
