Thingiverse.com website loads flashing orange thumbnails

Using Safari 9.01 on a Mac Pro Tower (Mid 2010) running OSX10.11.1 and when I goto www.thingiverse.com and load one of the 3D printer models I consistently get flashing orange on the blue thumbnails.

It is as if there is a problem with the graphics card, but the problem doesn't happen if I use the Google Chrome Browser.

Anyone have any troubleshooting steps for me to check in Safari? The Menu bar Safari > Reset Safari isn't an option in this version.

I tried these steps without it fixing the orange model thumbnail flashing problem:

If Safari doesn't load pages from a specific site

If only one webpage or website isn't working, you can remove data related to that site to see if it fixes the issue. Use these steps to remove cookies, cache, and other data stored by Safari for a specific site:

Choose Safari > Preferences.
Click the Privacy icon.
Click the Details button.
Search for the name or domain of the website whose data you want to remove.
In the results list, click the domain (like example.com) that has data you want to remove.
Click Remove.
When you're finished, click Done and close the preferences window.

If I go to the menu bar >Safari >Preferences >Security and turn off "Enable JavaScript" the thumbnail feature for showing 3D models on thingiverse.com goes away (ie no preview thumbnails below the main image are shown so no orange flashing either), so this appears to be a problem with Javascript elements on my page.

I do run the default Java as well as a legacy Java for an old app Visual Thesaurus but I don't know if Safari uses its own version of Java.

Updated Java to Java 8 Update 66 (Java.com) and still having the issue.

Safari/Preferences/Advanced - enable the Develop menu, then go there and Empty Caches. Quit/reopen Safari and test. Then try Safari/History/Show History and delete all history items. Quit/reopen Safari and test. You can also try try Safari/Clear History…. The down side is it clears all cookies.Doing this may cause some sites to no longer recognize your computer as one that has visited the web site. Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library./Caches/com.apple.Safari/Caches.db and move it to the trash.

Go to Safari Preferences/Extensions and turn all extensions off. Test. If okay, turn the extensions on one by one until you figure out what extension is causing the problem.

Hi Eric,

Thanks for the suggestions. Here are the results:

Empty caches & reopen - Still have problem
Clear History - When I clicked clear history Safari gave me the spinning color wheel for an eternity. Did a force quit. Went back in all the history was still present (back to March 2015). I was able to successfully do a clear history the second time. Going back to Thingiverse I still the Java thumbnail flashing blue/orange problem.
Show View Options (command J) doesn't have show library folder as an option. When I go to Library/Caches I don't see a com.apple.Safari folder. I just have the following items.
- com.apple.AutoTimeZone.plist
- com.apple.Components2.LocalCache.AudioComponents
- com.apple.Components2.LocalCache.Components
- com.apple.Components2.LocalCache.QuickTimeComponents
- com.apple.desktop.admin.png
- com.apple.iconservices.store
- com.apple.ImageCaptureExtension2.ICADeviceDatabase.501

If I hold down the option key and in the finder go to >Go I do see the choice for >Library (only when option key is held).

In this library I did find the Safari folder but there is no Chaches.db (did this get deleted from the earlier steps?).

Doing a spotlight search didn't find caches.db

I tried your last suggestion of turning off Safari Extensions. I only have 1Password (a password manager). I chose to disable rather than uninstall. Quit and restarted Safari but the Java thumbnail orange/blue flashing on thigiverse.com is still present.

I appreciate all the good suggestions. I can live with the problem, but if you have any other ideas let me know.
