Error: Unable to Locate Printer

I have a HP Officejet J4680. I've had it for a while and every once in a while it will have issues. I usually unplug it and plug it back in and then all is well. I can't figure out the issue this time.

I print a document, it says "looking for printer" but never finds it. It says the printer is not connected.

How can I troubleshoot? TY

Thanks - I reset and removed the printer. Now when I try to add it back on, it does not show in the options. I go to printers and scanners (nothing shows there), click the plus sign, and the only thing that comes up is adobe pdf 8.0.

How can I help it find my printer? I have reset the printer as well and made sure it's on the same wireless network.

My printer is a J4680 HP.

Thank you.

I plugged the printer in and it worked a couple times. Now it keeps having the error "Communication failure". I turn it off and on and nothing happens. I remove the printer and then plug it in via USB again and it finds the printer again. I then print and it will "print" out the blank page at the end of a document but then gets stuck when actual printing is needed. I'm just leaving the USB connected at this point.
