Safari and Yahoo Mail Beta

Go to your Safari Preferences>Security>Cookies and remove any cookies related to Yahoo.

Back in Safari go to the Safari Menu and "empty cache".

Try Yahoo again.

Remember, Yahoo Beta is not yet compatible with Safari. Perhaps in 2007.

I have searched Yahoo Beta Mail and do not see that Safari is listed. Only "mac os X" using firefox. I wish Safari was supported. It's a shame that Yahoo has not kept Safari acceptability up.

It is a shame...Yahoo has always been bad with Safari...I think most people here keep a copy of Firefox/Camino for cases like this when webdesigners don't make their pages compatible with Safari. It's not much of a problem anymore but there are still a few sites depending on where you surf...

Actually the reason I started using Mail is because the standard Yahoo mail wouldn't display custom fonts, etc. on Mac. At that time not even with Firefox for Windows. But I'm glad that I switched because I enjoy using Mail much more that Yahoo's webmail which by the way was never good at searching...

Oops this sounds like Yahoo bashing!!! 😀 It's not meant to be...just letting you know other people have the same issues you're experiencing... 😀

It's asking you to set up UTF-8.
Try this:
Empty your cache, clear your history, and delete your cookies ... all for Safari.
Restart Safari.
Go to Safari in menu and click on it. Select preferences, then appearance.
Next, look at the bottom of the window for default encoding selection.
Select Unicode (UTF-8).
Maybe this will help.

I keep searching, but I have not seen Safari as a "supported" browser for yahoo mail beta.

Since you listed it as being listed, I was trying to find out where you read that.
Searching yahoo help, Safari does not seem to be found.
I really wish it were. If I wasn't so deep into Yahoo now, I would scrap it.
I wish they would support yahoo more!

I use Safari with the "regular" yahoo webmail, however, according to Yahoo, safari is not supported to work with the new "yahoo mail beta."

I wish it did. Using Safari, you can only access the "old" original yahoo mail.

If there's a way around this I'm not sure? I stopped using Yahoo's webmail a while back because of Mac incompatibilities and I don't regret it. I enjoy Mail.app much more with Yahoo setup as POP. Anyways the only other thing I can think of is if you set Safari to appear as another browser (do you know how?). This is likely not to work but you might not have many options. The other option being Firefox/Camino...
