Why does the height of the Mac Calendar window reset with each launch?

The Calendar app recently began to reset the height of the initial window every time I launch it. I have set the location and size of my app windows the way that works best for me. The apps remember this location and size so that I do not have to go through the process over and over again. Now the Calendar app remembers the location and width of the window, but always resets the height to just over half of the screen height. I have to drag the lower window boundary to the bottom of the screen every time I launch this app.

I am using Mac OS X 10.11.2 and Calendar 8.0 (2092.2) at this time.

I have the same problem.

From what I've heard, many others also have it.

For me it began with the introduction of OS X El Capitan.

Hide the calendars side bar and leave it hidden.

The problem has disappeared for me.

Hiding the side bar worked for me, too.

On the other hand, it is only a workaround and not a solution – I still want to see and use the side bar.

There have been several updates to OS X. Amazing that this annoying behavior has not been fixed. I understand that hiding the sidebar before quitting will avoid it, but I use the sidebar all the time and often forget to close it before I quit.
