Q: RANE/Serato Hardware SL2 SL3 SL4 Core Audio Port Issue with El Capitan

Hi Apple,

Me and many others have been having issues while using Serato DJ Software with Rane devices where either the software crashes or we get audio drop outs and hangs.
The Device (Audio Interface) i use is RANE SL3.

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013)

Version: 10.11.2 (15C50)

2.8 GHz Intel Core i7

16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Intel Iris 1536 MB

1TB SSD

Serato have updated their software (1.8.1) to support the latest OX El Capitan (10.11.2) and announced that the Problem is with RANE Drivers and not Serato.

See Site for details: https://support.serato.com/hc/en-us/articles/213821528

RANE has said its now a problem with Apple and is a Audio Port Issue. please see their announcement about the OX update: http://dj.rane.com/support/knowledge-base/el-capitan-update

Here is the Forum discussion with RANE saying they are awaiting for your response on fixing this issue.

Rane has only suggested that we Downgrade our OS to Mavericks or Yosemite. This should not be happening!

We need answers and not to be getting passed to someone else as everyone is pushing the blame around.

Please can you find out what the solution is rather then downgrading to a previous OS. This is a very frustrating with all the people that has spend loads of their money on a Macbook and RANE hardware especially this time of year where we DJs play out every weekend as our jobs.

Hope this gets sorted soon
Regards
Anthony

This is a user forum. While we users can sympathize, it is not in our power to solve this if it is a bug.

To let Apple know of this problem, you should use the proper feedback chanel.

a recent inquiry to Line 6 (I use guitar port) pointed to the option from the developers while Apple had given them the code for 10.11 months before it came out there were a critical issues with the tools necessary to get their audio software to work and that they were "working with Apple" who were helpful but who had not sorted out the issues and while the issue was better in 10.11.1 it was not a viable solution.

While none of this helps it does possibly shine some light on what's happening here.

Lamentable.

how do you know that the fault lies with Rane?
Ive seen on Rane forum it is a Apple issue. Also the JimmyCMPIT has said he getting issues with Line6 hardware and believes it could be related to this Audio Port issue.

Anyone who has a Rane mixer and runs El Capitan 10.11.2 really has has no mixer since the release on September 30, 2015. This driver issue is not a huge problem to be fixed, It is just not a priority of Apple. Rane has started losing customers as I type. People that DJ for a living can not deal with a problem like this where audio will drop out or turn to static in front of crowds. These  problems affect more people than apple knows.
