Q: Appleid already in use

Appleid is being rejected when attempting to create and ID,
Message is “Unable to verify Email already in use”.

This is crazy its my Email address, how can it be another
ID? A few confusing messages appearing when trying to Create ID.

1 Tried “Find my Appleid”, when I Enter my Email system
responds “Cannot Find Appleid…”

2 Attempted to create an Apple ID using my Email system
responds “Apple ID is already in use”

From the above you can see that 1 contradicts 2 and vice
versa.

I have tried numerous suggestions to solve this
conundrum all fail. It appears impossible for me to use my Email as the Apple

iPad, iOS 9

    Hi cem11,

The resources below will explain what an Apple ID is and the various email addresses that are used when working with Apple ID's.  There are links to Apple ID Support in the articles if you are unable to set up this account.

Create and start using an Apple ID

Your Apple ID is the account you use to access Apple services like the App Store, Apple Music, iCloud, iMessage, FaceTime and more. And you can sign in to all Apple services with a single Apple ID and password.

Do you already have an Apple ID?

You only need one Apple ID to access all Apple services. Before you create a new Apple ID, consider whether it might be better to continue using one you already have. Keep in mind that you might not be able to move data or purchases from an old Apple ID to a new one.

If you aren't sure if you already have an Apple ID, we can help you find it. If your email address has changed, you can change the address you use for your current Apple ID to continue using it.

    Create your Apple ID

To get started, go to the Apple ID site and select Create Your Apple ID. Here's what you need:

You can also create your Apple ID when you set up a new device, or sign in to iTunes or iCloud for the first time.

About your Apple ID email addresses

    Apple ID email address

When you create an Apple ID, you enter an email address. This email address is your Apple ID and the username that you'll use to sign in to Apple services like iTunes and iCloud. It's also the contact email address for your account. Be sure to check your email address regularly. We'll send you email notifications to help you manage your account and make the most of your Apple ID.

    Take care,

I also have this issue. When I want to register my email as AppleID, it can't proceed and shows- "This email address is being used as an AppleID....". I did't use the email before on any Apple ID account. So I try to reset password on that email if it is really have been registered, but its shows "***@gmail.com is not an AppleID". It appears impossible for me to use my email as Apple ID.

I Had this issue yesterday as I was trying to activate my cloud to sync up my phone and was prompted for my email address, which I thought I had already been using. But then I got that dreaded message and was really confused about it. Ended up using my work email, which then was the primary email associated with my account.

I tried to sign in online to the apple ID associated with that and it said that it did not exist.

For some reason I had an old Apple ID (Which I tried to find using Find my ID using my name) and only then it came up, I think it was from way back in 2007 or something. Anyways it wasn't an email address, it was a username, and once I went in there to change the contact email, it freed it up in the system. Then I was able to switch it back on my regular account. Weird stuff.

All I'm saying is go check if you already have an old ID you forgot about. Pre email address days or what have you.

Sorry if you already tried that and it didn't work. Good Luck!
