If you do a Reset (restart of iPod)

Learn how to reset your iPod - Apple Support

does it go back to the same screen? If so, try putting it into Disk Mode

Putting iPod into Disk Mode - Apple Support

If it can go into Disk Mode, try connecting it to the computer running iTunes.
