Trying to set up for my son. It will not let me load apps because says I have to have ISO 8. However, when I go to update it just says 5.1.1 is updated. How do I fix this?

The first generation iPad cannot be updated beyond iOS 5.1.1. You may be able to download the last compatible version of an a app by following the directions here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201377

An original iPad can't be updated past 5.1.1.

The iPad 1 has now been out for 5 years now.
Things have moved on today,s ipads are much more powerful
So are apps this is becoming a problem for iPad 1 users
Upgrade if you can the iPad air 1 32G was £479.00 now £349.00
