You will require the original password used to encrypt the Pages document. Without that password, there is no access by any means.

What makes you think they are encrypted?

when I go to "manage storage" on my iPad pro in the setting app, then got to "pages" click on it and all the files show up as encrypted. This is only on the iPad pro. all my files are held in the cloud so when I set up a new device and pages is on the device I go to the pages app and in the app itself I turn the button to iCloud. this allows pages to access all my files in pages to be accesses on the particular device. i have pages on a total of 3 different devices and 2 of the 3 I have no problem with them loading the files from iCloud so I can access them on those devices. the files are not encrypted on the other devices the only device that the files are encrypted on is the "iPad pro" no where does it ask me for a password to decrypt them. if all three devices are accessing the cloud and pulling the file down to my devices why are the same files that are being pupled down from the cloud encrypted on my iPad pro and not the others. when I sign on to iCloud.com on my Mac and access pages in my setting all the files show up in pages with NO encryption. somehow this is happening and I'm not sure how. I've tried deleting pages and reloading it and starting fresh however it won't let me access the files and the only way they show up is what I explained in the first part of this response and that is I can on;y see the files when I look them up in managing cloud storge in the "SETTINGS" app. I'm sure I will figure it out with out having to set up my iPad pro as a new iPad pro. I just can't figure out how those files got encryped on the iPad pro when the same files are not encrypted on my other devices.

    Again:

What makes you think they are encrypted?

Does the Mac say "These files are encrypted"?

Or are you assuming they are for some reason you have not stated?

i tried to explain it the best I could. in the first part of my issue it tells you exactly where the encrypted files are. the only time I ever encrypted anything was my iPhone 5S awhile back, but that was a separate device not assoiciated wth my iPad pro. a screen shot is enclosed. image.png

I had the exact same issue yesterday with a new iPad Pro but seem to have resolved it. The steps:

    - ensure you have a recent backup

    - in the iPad pro settings, sign out of iCloud

    - select "delete" on the pop up asking whether to delete notes/data

    - ensure Pages is closed i.e. not still running in the background (not sure whether this is essential but it's a step I took)

    - restart the iPad

    - relogin to iCloud under settings

After doing all of this I restarted Pages and it immediately started updating with all of the documents saved on iCloud.

I hope this helps, it was intensely frustrating to see that the new iPad detected the documents only for Pages to not display them!

I followed the instructions and now all the files on my iCloud drive are encrypted and not available on my iPad Pro.  I can't get to any of them.
