Q: Photo  constantly changes order of photos in slide show no matter how many times the user moves the photo back to the correct viewing order. Example: Bathroom shots ends up grouped with kitchen shots!!! I have found no way to stop this weird behavior?

Apple Photo 1.3 Serious Problems - How do I FIX all of these problems?

(1) Crashes with no rhyme or reason regardless where I am in the work flow.

(2) Photo will Not Shut Down Every Time, Even After Several Days of Waiting.

(3) aPhoto frequently selects wrong photo during EDIT photo option, as I get a different photo other than the one I clicked on which is over a 100 photos away.

(4) Photo  constantly changes order of photos in slide show no matter how many times the end user moves the photo back to the correct viewing order. Example: Bathroom shots ends up grouped with kitchen shots!!! I have found no way to stop this weird behavior!! Is there a way to stop this? If I drag the photo back some 7 pictures further into the slide show, after about a minute or less, it re-appears back to where it does not belong. !@#$%$#

(5) If you make the slightest EDIT to a photo it often changes how your entire slide show appears from that photo forward. So you lose all that work arranging your slideshow configuration. Even changing the order of some photos once again that I had just put back where they need to be. !@#$$#@

(6) Photo frequently identifies lamps shades and long door handles as people’s faces.

(7) Photo makes bad decisions when it comes to brightness, contrast and colors with no work around other than to use other software, where as with iPhoto there were lots of workarounds. I could go on, but will spare whoever might be reading this.

I am up to date on ALL updates for my Mac. If anyone have REAL answers then please spill the beans, but as I see it the only truth is that Apple rolled out an inferrer product to replace an outstanding product called iPhoto which will not run on my new 27” iMac 5K computer.   Had I known this I would have chosen a different computer as I use iPhoto to prep over fifty  to seventy thousand photos in any given year, and I use iPhoto to make hundreds of slide shows from it.  Are there any plugins for Photo 1.3? I ask as I see where there might be add-ons, but I can't find any.

Apple has made a grave decision by turning their back on iPhoto and the tens of millions of its loyal users.

Thanks in advance to anyone brave enough to tackle this post.

start by backing up your Photos library and holding down the option and command keys while launching Photos - repair your database - you have a corrupted database

I DID AS YOU SUGGESTED AND HERE"S WHAT HAPPENED AFTERWORDS.

BUG REPORT UPDATE 12.23.15  THE FOLLOWING REPORT IS WHILE USING THE SLIDE SHOW MAKER FOUND IN APPLE'S PHOTO 1.03

    (1) After adjusting color in EDIT mode for realty photo shoot of a living room, PHOTO grabbed a photo from a kitchen shoot further down into the slide show and dropped the kitchen photo into the middle of the living room shoot. This kind of problem happens frequently.

    (2) Now while cropping a kitchen photo in EDIT mode, upon exiting back to slideshow mode, PHOTO grabbed a living room photo and dropped it into the middle of the kitchen shoot, and grabbed three kitchen shots and dropped all three into the shoot of the living room.

    (3) NOW WHEN I CLICKED AND DRAGGED ONE PHOTO BACK TO  WHERE IT USE TO BE “PHOTO” REARRANGED THE ENTIRE LIVING ROOM AND KITCHEN SHOOT BY MIXING THE TWO TOGETHER WHICH ALSO CHANGED THE ENTIRE LAYOUT OF THE REST OF THE REALTY SLIDESHOW THAT I SPENT NEARLY TWO HOURS WOKING ON. IS THE SOFTWARE IS MAKING DECISIONS FOR ME VIA SOME KIND OF ALGORYTHEM??? IF SO, HOW DO I TURN IT OFF AND NO I AM NOT USING SMART FOLDERS FOR THIS VERY REASON.

Simply said, useing PHOTO’s EDIT mode, causes PHOTO to constantly rearrange the order of photos in the slideshow against the wishes of the end user. THIS MAKES PHOTO USELESS for making slideshows for Real Estate presintations.

I even used OPTION and COMMAND and restarted PHOTO to restore/rebuild PHOTO’s data base and that was of no help whatsoever.

THERE ARE LOTS OF OTHER BIGS THAT NEED FIXING AS WELL. I FOUND THAT I DID NOT LIST HERE BUT HAVE ELSEWHERE BUT TO NO AVAILE.

PHOTO IS A FRICKING JOKE!!! I bought Apple’s top of the line iMac just to use iPhoto which turns out Apple tossed into the trashcan!! Thousands spent for a new Mac all for nothing as I already had a nice iMac, I just wanted a faster iMac for iPhoto as that’s all I use my Mac for as I have 5 other computers to use for other tasks.  Thousands of dollars now wasted on a top of the line iMac which DOES NOT WORK CORRECTLY!!!!!!!

BY THE WAY, I HAD ALL THESE PROBLEMS AND OTHERS NOT LISTED HERE WITHIN ANN HOUR OF SETTING UP MY BRAND NEWI IMAC!!  I WONDER WHAT OTHER BUGS THERE ARE ELSEWHERE THAT I WILL FIND.

    (1) Makes bad color decisions.
    (2) Makes bad contrast decisions
    (3) Makes extremely bad retouch decision which is so bad it's simply not useable, not even for patching up green grass. lol
    (4) Auto enhance turns photos with beautiful color and great contrast into dark, dingy photos with very flat color that were taken on world class Canon cameras.

    (5) Photo crashes as well.

PHOTO 1.03 is poorly written software with great potential that's not ready for public distribution.

Thanks LarryHN but I think you and I are in way over our heads here as "PHOTO 1.03"  is simply buggy software that was rolled out in a BIG hurry to replace the amazing iPhoto software that had a proven track record along with millions of users.

Sorry - but you are over your head - I am not - Photos works great on both Macs and all IOS devices I have - and works great for millions and millions and millions of people - you have a problem that may be (but probably is not) related to Photos 1.3 bugs

However with yelling, unreadable formatting and editorials instead of facts and calm reporting it is impossible to help you

    Have a nice day
