    Hi roninxix,

If I understand your question, you have launched iTunes, opened the iTunes Store, clicked on the Purchases tab, and tried to play a TV show or Movie and all you are seeing is a blank screen, is that right?

The first thing I would suggest is to Force Quit the iTunes application and launch it again.  Do you see your iTunes library?  Are you able to play content in your library?

If the issue appears to be only with iTunes Store purchases, try updating your OS X (your profile states 10.6.4), and iTunes software.   Then try the troubleshooting steps for connecting to the iTunes Store below:

If you can’t connect to the iTunes Store

    Take care,

judysings, thanks for the reply.  Sadly this hasn't worked.

    I'm running OS X Yosemite 10.10.5 and iTunes 12.3.2.35 on a early 2015 MacAir.

I can see all my purchases, including music which I can play, however the movies and TV shows won't play.  I get a black screen with all the control buttons showing but when the item plays there's neither sound nor picture.  I have no issues, apart from an intermittent internet connection, connecting to iTunes store.

"Home Movies" play, which have been converted for iTunes with Smart Convertor Pro

I was wondering if it was to do with permissions for the items.  Even though they were purchased whilst in the UK I am in SE Asia.

It's starting to get slightly frustrating to say the least.

    Hi ironinxix ,

The resource below explains what iTunes Store content is available by country.  The purchases you made in the UK may not be accessible in SE Asia.

What can I buy from the iTunes Store in my country?

If you have questions about these purchases, here's how to review your account and contact the iTunes Store Support Team:
