Q: I like to reload the OS X and put in place a new admin user

I like to pass on my older Mac 27" to my family member and I like to reload

the OS and remove the admin without removing the data from the hard disk.

how can this be done?

iMac (27-inch, Late 2013), iOS 9.2

    Hi skyyeo,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities! I'm sure we can help you out with your question. If you are looking to sell or give away your iMac to another person, you may find the steps outlined in the following article helpful:

What to do before selling or giving away your Mac - Apple Support

Note: If there is data that you would like to transfer to them as well, the easiest and most straightforward way would be to copy or back that data up separately prior to erasing the computer, then allow them to transfer/reimport that data once they have the machine set up with their new account so that all the data is correctly associated. Also note that this may not apply if the data is purchased content linked to your Apple ID, like iTunes music or applications purchased from the Mac App Store.
