No battery, SMC reset does not help long enough

Goodday

The battery of my macbook 2006 has had the maximum cycli, now I use it only with the charger. I often have the black screens (at least 3 times during the time I spend at the macbook). So a reset does not really help. Is there anything else I can do? Or is this a sad end of the story.....

Thank you for reading and answering my question.

Good day from Italy

Thank you for your answer. I mean by black screen, that the screen turns black during start up or during working.

This is what I did several times, but this does not help because the black screens keep coming back.

On Mac notebooks with removable battery

Older MacBook and MacBook Pro computers have removable batteries. Learn about removing the battery on MacBook and MacBook Pro.

To reset the SMC:

  1. Shut down the computer.
  2. Disconnect the MagSafe power adapter from the computer if it's connected.
  3. Remove the battery. (the battery does not work anymore, I use only the power adapter)
  4. Press and hold the power button for five seconds.
  5. Release the power button.
  6. Reconnect the battery and MagSafe power adapter.
  7. Press the power button to turn on the computer.

kind regards
