If I understand your post correctly, you are seeing a lock icon along with an entry field on the screen of your MacBook Pro. This indicates that a firmware password has been established on your Mac, and it will require you to enter the correct password to continue. For more information, including what to do if you don't remember the password, please see the information in the link below.
If you forget your firmware password
If you can't remember the password you set using the Firmware Password Utility or Find My Mac, schedule a service appointment with an Apple Retail Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider. Bring your proof of purchase (original receipt or invoice) with you. If you plan to visit an Apple Retail Store, make a reservation (available only in some countries).
