Wireless keyboard responds slowly

My wireless keyboard will suddenly start responding slowly. Will then repeat characters, tabbing through files it will continue tabbing. Restarting fixes it but only for a couple hours or so then start acting up over again.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.7)
