Q: iMovie not recognising iPhone 6s photos

When I try and import photos I took with my iPhone 6s into iMovie it just remains black and does not show on playback

iMovie 10, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

    Hello lollytt,

     

    After reviewing your post, It sounds like you are trying to import photos to iMovie but it is not working. I would recommend you read this article, it shows two different ways you can import photos to iMovie.

    Hi Mario49,

    Thanks for the article.  But for some reason iMovie is not showing my iPhone 6s plus pictures.  I would see the pictures in the pane for import but when I add it to the timeline is a black.  It would show the videos but not the pictures.  If I try to import pictures taken with my Nikon camera it would work.  I took a number of pictures with my iPhone in order  to create a movie and it is now working.

    I'm having the same issue and I assume it's due to the "live photo" element of the iPhone 6s. I don't have a solution but I'm sure that is the issue!
