Q: ipad air 2 multi tasking app selection

Is there any way to choose the apps that are available for multi tasking? The ones that I see are ones that I have never or almost never use and do me no good for my job. They can not be deleted because they are primarily Apple apps.

iPhone 6, iOS 9.1

What do you mean choose the apps available for multitasking?

Correct you can't delete the apps that came with the phone.

When I swipe from the right to pull up the multi tasking options I get a very limited very Apple oriented Apps to select from. Some of the options I have never opened. I would like to be able to add or remove apps from the multi tasking option bar.

You have no control over what appears there. That is up to the developer of each app to code it for compatibility with the feature or not. If an app is compatible, it will appear there. If it is not compatible then it will not.

You understood what the OP is asking?  I'm still confuse about the multitasking option the OP is talking about.

You may have to slide down from the top right of the screen.

    See "Use Slide Over" here:

Thanks. Not a very valuable tool since that is the case. I find it hard to believe the developers that have not updated, and that I have 15 options and 12 of them are Apple.

Submit feedback to Apple at http://www.apple.com/feedback/

Given it's a new feature it will take awhile for developers to catch up.  And maybe Apple can implement a settings/preference where you can customize the list of apps that appear tailored to your usage.

In the slide over (from right) and then swipe down from the top to get the list of apps available for multitasking, customizing what apps do or do not appear in the list. Several posters have asked about customizing that list.  But users have no say of what populates that list,  Any and all  apps that support the multitask display feature will appear there, period.
