likely yes, but likely not in 4K resolution so it would be downscaled and if one downscale to a resolution which is not modulus 2 of the native, things become blurry
Hi, I've recently changed to this set-up (with a quite powerful i7 2012 Mac Mini) and I can confirm it works, but the screen resolution result is somewhat disappointing. Especially if you're expecting vibrant screens.
I've seen new retina macbooks who look way better! I could however be that I'm not using the full potential of it all. I'm desperately looking for info how to improve it but did not find actionable and feasible input on this quest. Ok, I'm aware that 4K is not achievable for the next thing below that 'rating' would already suffice. Not there yet by a long shot...
Anyone some ideas how to improve...(besides getting rid of the 'old´ mac
Quite simply, without display hardware fully compatible with the new monitor, results will never be as good as they could be!
Sadly as the graphics chip in the MMini 2012 can not be changed a new mac is the only solution.
