When I try to add it, and error message appears: 'Unable to verify account name or password'. This happens since I reinstalled the latest update of El Capitan. Can anyone help me?

This article seems not updated. Now, just after clicking the add button, a dropdown for choosing a mail account provider appears, similar to the list of Internet Accounts in System Preferences. When I choose AOL and try to fill the information requested, the mentioned problem occurs.
Normally I don't use Mail or any other email client. But I do still have an AOL mail account and I had no trouble adding it to Mail. You may want log into AOL.com and see if your username and password are still working.
Yes, they work fine. I had no problems to add the AOL account before 10.11.2 update.
I am having this same problem. I have verified my full name, email address, and password are correct by entering them at aol.com.
