Q: Mac OS X 10.7.5 and iPhone 6s?
I just bought the iphone 6s plus and am trying to restore from iTunes backup but everytime I connect to my computer the message: "The iPhone “iPhone” cannot be used because it requires a newer version of iTunes. Go to www.itunes.com to download the latest version of iTunes." appears.
When I check for updates in iTunes it says I have the current version (12.2.2).
I am using Mac OS X v. 10.7.5 and I have a feeling this can't support the newest iTunes or something? This seems ridiculous because I bought my Mac in 2012.
Is there any way I can update my new phone to an old backup?
Thanks

You are quite correct with many of your conclusions:
Indeed your version of OS X is too old to support the current version of iTunes (12.3.2) which is required to communicate to your iPhone running iOS 9.
If you purchased your Mac new in 2012, what you must (and can certainly) do is upgrade your OS X to El Capitan (the current version). You can do that from here:
Upgrade to OS X El Capitan - Apple Support
Once you have done that, you can use the current version of iTunes and everything will be fine.
UPDATE: By the way, when you check for an iTunes update and are told you have "the current version", that is because that is the most current version your OS X version can run.
