Philips BDM4065UC 40 inch 4K monitor. Does it work well with Mac Pro ?
Hi, Everyone.
I just recently purchased this monitor (Philips BD4065 40 inch 4K) and intend to use it with the Mac Pro. My Mac Pro hasn't arrived yet but is on its way. I tried the monitor with my Macbook Pro 13" Retina (new model) and it works well in full native resolution (3840 x 2160 @ 60 Hz) but (1) I only tried and didn't work with it long enough to access image quality and (2) noticed that the mini DisplayPort doesn't work. In order to have it work with my MBP I had to use a cable of the type mini DP-to-DP. In other words the cable is connected to my computer's mini DisplayPort (in reality to the Thunderbolt port) and the other end is connected to the DisplayPort available on the Philips monitor (the regular size DP and not the mini DP).
What have been your experiences with this monitor ? I would like to hear from those who have either tried it or used it before.
Thank you in advance.
Mac Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.2)
